- Yoga therapy is a growing field and scientific evidence has begun to emphasize its efficacy. It is used to treat existing mental and physical health issues but can also be used as a self-care strategy for prevention and maintenance.
- At the same time, however, the incidents of yoga related pain and injuries are on the rise. Many people mistakenly equate yoga as a stretching exercise or feel compelled to go to extreme range of motion where they don’t have the stability of the joint and “go for the burn”. The typical outcome is overstretched ligaments that take months to heal or weakened muscular coordination due to chronically unevenly stressed muscles. If unaddressed, further damage will occur.
- We are as strong or as flexible as the weakest link of the body. If we don’t attend to those weak links of our body, we cannot develop a strong, supple and resident body.
- That’s why I created My Yoga. My Yoga is a personalized yoga practice that reflect the person’s individual health history. Listening to the responses from the nervous system, the participants will discover an increased movement capacity that extends beyond what they thought possible. It’s a deliberate practice and it takes patience. But the benefits will stay for the lifetime.
So join me in the journey to create your ‘My Yoga’ practice.
